I just had an email from my Mom. My cat, Whiskers, who has been living with my sister for the past several years, had to be put down due to kidney failure.
He was getting old - I received him as a birthday gift for my 16th birthday, and he would have been 19 years old this November. He was a wonderful cat, very friendly and loving, and sadly, old age just caught up with him. I'm very sad right now.

Sorry to hear about your loss. It's sad whenever we lose a pet and a friend.
I also lost my loyal dog and dear friend, Miko last July 11, 2006. He was nine years old. - rach
