Star Trek's 40th Anniversary

So it's been 40 years since Star Trek first aired on television.

Yes, I'll admit, I'm a Trekkie, or a Trekker, or whatever the proper term is these days. pbbt

I was fortunate enough to meet Canada's James Doohan, who played Scotty on the original Star Trek series, before he passed away. I was at a Star Trek convention (yes, I'm a geek ) winkwink and he was the guest of honour.

I also indulge my inner Star Trek geek writing for alt.starfleet.rpg (ASR). So what's ASR, you ask? To quote the ASR web site:
We're a Star Trek role-playing game/interactive fiction writing club, set up in the Usenet newsgroup alt.starfleet.rpg (with a Yahoo! Groups web archive), where we publish our stories. Founded in 1991, ASR has grown to 22 units and more than 160 active players (and we're still growing!) Our role playing units, ranging from starbases to starships, battlecruisers to Marine battalions, even fighter wings, are all different and unique in their playing styles, and everyone will probably find a unit that's to his or her liking.
As Spock would say, "Live Long and Prosper."
