Monday Madness

This week's Monday Madness Questions
  1. From amanda f: What do you do when someone compliments you

    a. Smile and say Thanks

  2. From shelly: What color are your eyes?

    Hazel

  3. From kia: What do you like most about yourself?

The fact that I've overcome some pretty major obstacles in my life, including two chronic diseases, and I'm a stronger, happier person for it.

  4. From julie: How do you spend Christmas?

Christmas Eve we normally attend Mass at Church, then come home and open one present. Christmas morning we would open the rest of our presents and our stockings. Later that morning, when we were living in Ottawa, we would go over to either my parents' place or my sister's place, and open gifts with them. Then we would assemble at someone's place (usually my parents' or my sister's) and have Christmas dinner.

Now that we are in Munich, with no family close at hand, my husband and I will probably simply celebrate Christmas quietly together.

  5. From wide imagination: When do you normally blog? Day or night?

Usually during the day. Of course the day here in Germany is not at the same time as the day back in North America. We are six hours ahead of Eastern Time here in Munich.

  6. From rach:What song can you relate to your personal life? Share a line or two of that song.

Hmmm, interesting question. Well, before I was married, it was definitely Only The Good Die Young, by Billy Joel, since I could have been Virginia in that song, the good, proper, Catholic girl, waiting for marriage:
Come out Virginia, don't let me wait
You Catholic girls start much too late
aw But sooner or later it comes down to fate
I might as well be the one
These days. Hmmm, another Billy Joel song might suit, I Go To Extremes
Darling I don't know why I go to extremes
Too high or too low there ain't no in-betweens
And if I stand or I fall
It's all or nothing at all
Darling I don't know why I go to extremes
For my husband and I, our first dance at our wedding was yet another Billy Joel song, Just the way you are
Don't go changing, to try and please me
You never let me down before
    Don't imagine you're too familiar
And I don't see you anymore
I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble
We never could have come this far
I took the good times, I'll take the bad times
I'll take you just the way you are
  7. From sherle:What is your favorite color for a sleeping environment?

Blue. Our sheets, bedspreads, and pillowcases are various shades of blue.

Great songs. I know it's going to be different being away from family at Christmas, but you two will be able to start building your own traditions. And, that can be fun.

Happy Monday!

Hi Caylynn,

I'm glad to hear that you've been triumphant against two major diseases in your life. I hope that you'll always have the best of health. Stay happy.

I love blue and Billy Joel! Great choices for songs! I'm also another hazel-eyed person! Thanks for stopping by! Sorry about your cramped-up leg. That sounds painful!
